Collection: ANIGRE
Anigre (also spelled Anegre or Aniegre) primarily refers to a massive African hardwood used extensively in high-end design. It is a tropical hardwood indigenous to East and West Africa, particularly found in countries like Tanzania, Ghana, and Nigeria. It is highly valued for its aesthetics and versatility in interior applications.
Typically a light yellowish-brown to pinkish-tan colour that matures into a warm golden brown over time. It features a straight to interlocked grain with a natural luster. It is famous for its decorative "figured" patterns, such as "Fiddleback" (resembling the back of a violin) and mottled grain.
Because of its large size and uniform appearance, it is frequently used for high-end wood veneers, cabinetry, architectural millwork, and furniture. It is rated as non-durable and susceptible to insect attack, making it unsuitable for outdoor use. It contains silica, which can blunt cutting tools during processing.
